hello Oregon!!!
We’re back! Eight thousand miles in 138 days, and we covered a LOT of ground! From Oregon to the tip of the Baja peninsula to the Panhandle of Texas, with endless adventures on the way, we’re back in Baker City, we did it!
We escaped winter and swam with fishes in the Sea of Cortez, we hiked to ancient cliff dwellings in Arizona and slid down natural rock water slides, we ate fried okra and BBQ and danced under the moon in Texas, we hunted rabbits, hiked through Aspens and ate around campfires in Colorado, we traveled across states to see friends and family…we made new lifelong friends. Our hearts have been touched by the generosity and love of so many people in such a short time. Especially the children that have let us into their wild and creative little worlds; they have been magic to our playful souls. It’s been an epic ride.
Our next adventure is ALASKA!! It feels amazing to be on the road still. Better, with every mile. We have a clear purpose in the van, it’s as simple as moving forward. It’s easiest when we are flexible and can make room for unexpected stops or detours. Timelines can often create stress, but, all of it feels like momentum, like the path ahead of us is going somewhere, somewhere AWESOME. Man, this life is good. And so affordable it’s ridiculous. In four and a half months we’ve traveled far and lived LARGE on a modest budget. We’ve embraced simplicity and found freedom.
I’m blessed with a partner that has made all of this possible. Michael’s patience, confidence and capabilities all far surpass my own. He’s the protector, the driver, the mechanic, and often the cook!
Bless your heart, Pampa, Texas. I could write a whole blog about my time there, and when the road warrior in me slows down, I just might. Y’all are family. I love Michael from the bottom of my heart and I’m honored to be part of his life, to be in yours. I’m proud to wear my blingy Texas state necklace!
Dare to the live the life you’ve always dreamed of! Love like there is no tomorrow!
As one of those you met in Pampa, Texas, I hope I am included in those lifelong friends. We enjoyed your energy and carefree spirit. I envy the life you have found and wish you luck and safe travels ahead.
Enjoy!
